Position Summary:
The Tax Manager is responsible for managing corporate tax compliance and reporting activities as an individual contributor. This role focuses on U.S. GAAP tax accounting, federal and state tax compliance, and supporting tax planning initiatives without direct people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax obligations.
- Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 740 for tax accounting and reporting.
- Conduct tax research and provide recommendations to optimize tax positions.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess impact on the organization.
- Manage multi-state income and franchise tax filings.
- Perform nexus reviews and ensure compliance with state tax requirements.
- Assist with tax audits and inquiries from external auditors and tax authorities.
- Prepare documentation and analysis to support tax positions.
- Work closely with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Provide guidance on tax implications for transactions and projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MST preferred.
- 5–7 years of experience in corporate tax, including federal and state compliance.
- Public Accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 740.
- Proficiency with tax research tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Must have proper US work authorization.
- Hybrid work arrangement.
- Travel requirements of 0-10%
